Parking
Plenty on most days - when special events are held at the Mission Bay Aquatic Center there can be limited or no space. Try to park as near to the bay on the east side of the lot as possible as this will make your pull to the water easiest.

Fishing Description

The large, half-moon shape of Sail Bay is laid out before you at this launch and there are fish everywhere. Paul Weintraub caught his IGFA world record spotted bay bass less than 30 yards from Santa Clara Point and he let the fish go free - it's still in there and probably a good deal bigger!

Fish the heavy eelgrass with blades or weedless rigs then head to the north end for crank bait heaven. Lots of large fish school up in the areas on the north and east edges of the the bay. Also, large schools of medium grade bass are found right out in the middle of the open basin. Be mindful that this is also a waterskiing area and those boaters aren't looking out for you as much as they're looking at skiiers behind them.
