The Dana Landing launch area is a boat launch ramp next to the Dana Landing Market. Stop inside and ask Johnny for the hot lure and then park topside near the trees and unload your kayak on the grass by the ramp. Bring launch wheels if you have them - the concrete surface of the ramp is not plastic friendly.
The market is a full service tackle shop and convenience store with drinks, food and a good deli. Bathrooms are on the other side of the ramp in a city-managed public restroom.
Some fantastic fishing can be found right off the launch area. In fact, paddling about 30' off the ramp and casting spinnerbaits towards the police and fuel docks almost always yields a couple of spotted bay bass.
Fishing the Ed Whited method in and around these docks is very effective as is crankbaiting the outer edges and empty slips. Just outside the Dana Landing slips harbor is a great wide flat that runs between the bridges. Excellent halibut and bass fishing in all areas. Paddle east past Sea World and you'll find a penguin exhibit that is built into the bay. Penguins swim in a fenced area and will usually come check out passers-by.
Driving Directions
Parking
Make sure to park in a single-vehicle spot. The ramp parking lot is mostly for trailer parking only and you will be ticketed for parking incorrectly. There is a great deal of street-side parking and there are legitimate parking spaces in the lot, too.
