Crown Point Park is located on the east side of Crown Point itself. The launch areas, there are two of them, both point towards great fishing. The first launch is by the ecological preserve on the north end of the park. There is a dirt lot where one can unload their kayak and fishing gear then go park in the lot. This leaves only a very short pull to the water. The second launch location is across the Ingraham St bridge on the north end of Vacation Island. This is a small park area with a parking lot that backs right up to the sand. Another very easy beach launch.
Driving Directions
Launching from the area near the ecological preserve affords some great fishing on well marked structure. The bouy line that borders the preserve is a perfect place to begin. Throw weedless rigs along the bouys (very dense vegetation) and hang on! Also, fish the outer edges of Ski Island and over to the "bowling pin" structure for more of the same.
The beach launch under Ingraham St bridge affords some excellent channel style fishing. The tide moves through this area quickly and can produce spotties when everything else seems shut down. Crankbaits and grubs work very well in the water here between 10' and 15'.
