Cobra Kayaks Navigator Fishing Kayak Review

Answers by Mike K. King

1. How long have been fishing the kayak?

2years+

2. Why did you choose this boat?

Price (Blem)

3. Have you owned other boats? Which? In what order? Discuss your
progression.

Rented the old scupper pro ....realy wet ride, fast, but unstable for 200lbs guys like me to fish from, borrowed nav. tandem...great stability easy to fish to large guys...borrowed fish n dive....great for Coronado trip when real nasty, but to slow to catch up with the Hobie's I usualy fish with and bad in strong wind. (Hobie..the escalade suv of the kayak world).

4. What are the tradeoffs of this kayak?

easy to paddle..great in rough surf (LAUNCH ONLY..RIDE IN SOMETIMES NOT SO BUENO.. JUST ASK HOBIE TOM eye witness, although I don't know too many who have been doing this a while who haven't taken advantage off Shimano's rod replacement program..JUST ASK IRON 90 ) Price good for entry level fisherman, light weight, can stack two hobies on top no problem. NO CUP HOLDERS!!!

5. What are the strengths of this kayak?

Cobra durability..good sized trunk for tank...when equiped with font hatch it has great fish taco storage.

6. What is the one thing that keeps it above the rest in your mind?

For a beginner you can't beat the overall bang for the buck.

7. Anything else?

After fishing with the Hobie boys (Marty and Tom) I think there might be a Navigator available soon for the next guy / gal looking to get in to the sport... I'll make sure I post the sale when ready.
